Bernhard Osann

Bernhard Osann runs his design studio in Hamburg where he designs primarily lights and furniture. Osann graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg.

Before becoming a designer, Osann completed an apprenticeship as joiner and attended a school for sculpture which influenced his basic priciples of design.

Osann plays with physical laws and geometrical shapes to find new unconventional solutions to simplify objects. The results are minimalistic dynamic constructions that move, invite you to be moved and interact with space.

Osann has produced a number of unique works with NEMO, including the Bird table table lamp which embodies Osann's fascination with physics and geometry.
