Folks House
IOA studio strikes a harmonious balance between old and new in this renovation and fit out of a grand heritage house in Williamstown. The brief was to bring more light into the dark, cavernous house and provide a direct connection between the garden and the living spaces within tight heritage controls. Constructed by BFC Built, together with interiors, styling and landscape design by inDesign Company, Folks House was a deeply collaborative and comprehensive effort. The resulting design acts to restore and reinvigorate the existing dwelling, creating a diversity of spaces, small and large for the clients and their family to enjoy and expand in.
